CIRH Advisory Board

The Center for Immigrant and Refugee Health (CIRH) Advisory Board is a consultative body that brings together experts, advocates, and community leaders to guide and support CIRH’s mission of improving health outcomes for immigrant and refugee populations. The board is crucial in providing strategic advice, fostering community engagement, and strengthening CIRH’s partnerships to drive impactful immigrant and refugee health initiatives.  

Purpose and Role

CIRH Advisory Board supports CIRH’s programs to be innovative, culturally competent, and aligned with emerging public health needs. Board members provide guidance on strategic priorities, community engagement, and advocacy, supporting CIRH to advance health equity for immigrant and refugee communities.  

Core Functions 

  • Strategic guidance: Advise on long-term priorities and emerging public health trends impacting immigrants and refugees  

  • Community engagement: Strengthen ties with immigrant and refugee communities 

  • Advocacy and policy: Guide efforts to influence health policies and address systemic barriers 

  • Program relevance: Ensure programs are culturally relevant, impactful, and meet the needs of the immigrant and refugee communities 

  • Sustainability: Support CIRH sustainability and partnership initiatives
