Mastering Know Your Rights Training for Your Community
Join us for a training, presented in collaboration with Project ANAR, designed to strengthen your capacity to deliver Know Your Rights workshops within the communities you serve.
Our speakers will provide key insights on immigration law and share strategies for facilitating Know Your Rights workshops. This session will also address urgent housing and health concerns impacting immigrant and refugee families.
This session is for community members, service providers, advocates, and allies.

Laila Ayub
Laila Ayub is an Afghan American lawyer and co-founder of Project ANAR. She has over five years of experience as an immigration defense lawyer, primarily working alongside detained asylum seekers and leading collaborative immigration advocacy efforts. Laila is the 2024 recipient of the American Immigration Lawyers Association Young Lawyer award. She has presented and written for dozens of immigration, public interest, Muslim, and progressive platforms. Laila's work with ANAR focuses on organization administration, external relations, technical assistance, removal defense, advocacy, and communications.
Sara Kohgadai
Sara Kohgadai (she/her) is an immigration attorney and co-director with Project ANAR. Sara joined the team in 2023 to expand services for Afghan parolees in the Bay Area. As a Co-director at ANAR, Sara works with Afghan immigrants and refugees in English and in Dari on an individual and large scale pro se basis through workshops, provides training and Know Your Rights sessions to services providers and community members, engages in community outreach and advocates for freedom of movement for all.
