Introduction to School of Freedom (English)
In this video, Jasmin Kouhkan, MSW, CIRH's Refugee Student Wellness Advisor, sits down with Moheb Salemi, Program Manager and Founding Member of the School of Freedom, to explore how this groundbreaking initiative is transforming education for Afghan girls and refugee youth.
The School of Freedom was created to provide accessible, culturally responsive education for Afghan girls who have been banned from schooling under Taliban rule and for refugee and newcomer youth in the U.S. Through remote learning, after-school tutoring, community mentorship, and academic advising, the program centers dignity, safety, and opportunity, empowering students to reclaim their right to learn.
This English-speaking video includes both a presentation and a Q&A session.
